Kellie Hunt, aka Cactus Kellie, is the Garden Educator at Mt. Diablo Elementary School. She has lived in Clayton her entire life, and she is an MDE alumna. Growing up in Clayton, she fell in love with the outdoors and nature. Living at the base of Mt. Diablo, she grew up playing in the creek, hiking, biking, and enjoying all the beautiful nature. Both her grandmother and mother are avid gardeners, so naturally she, too, has a passion for the garden. She is excited to share her passion and knowledge of the garden with her 2 daughters who attend MDE as well as with all the other students. She feels very fortunate to be a part of the garden educator program, and she looks forward to helping her students grow a love of gardens, fresh foods, and the beauty of nature.
